Quick Facts

Hi, I’m Simon.
I believe business should support your life, not consume it.
For more than a decade I’ve helped UK business owners understand their finances, improve profitability and make better decisions…
My Story
I started my career as an apprentice accountant at a Renault dealership before moving into electronics distribution and food manufacturing. After qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), I went on to manage budgets of more than £100 million for large manufacturing businesses.
From the outside, everything looked successful.
On the inside, I was exhausted.
Long hours, constant pressure and the demands of corporate life eventually led me to make one of the biggest decisions of my career.
In 2014, I walked away and started my own business.
I thought self-employment would be easier.
It wasn’t.
It was different.
Running a business taught me lessons that corporate life never could. I had to learn sales, marketing, pricing, leadership and cash flow the hard way. I made mistakes, learned from them and discovered that understanding finance is only one piece of building a successful business.
What I Believe
You don’t need to become an accountant to run a successful business.
You just need to understand your numbers well enough to make good decisions.
That’s where I come in.
I explain finance in plain English, helping business owners understand what’s really happening in their business so they can make confident decisions.
Yes, tax matters.
Yes, compliance matters.
But they’re only part of the picture.
Successful businesses aren’t built on clever tax planning.
They’re built on solid profits, good decisions and a clear understanding of where the owner wants the business to take them.
I see myself as a trusted adviser and a critical friend. I’ll support you, challenge you when needed and always keep your long-term goals in mind.
Beyond the Numbers
Over the last decade I’ve built an accountancy practice, grown a fantastic team and worked with hundreds of business owners.
I’ve learned that the numbers are rarely the real challenge.
The real questions are:
- How do I earn more without working all the time?
- How do I build a business that supports my family?
- How do I reduce the stress?
- How do I create something valuable that I can one day step away from or sell?
Those are the conversations I enjoy most.
Outside Work
I’m first and foremost a husband and dad. I’ve been married to my wife for over twenty years, and family will always come first.
Outside work you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, in the gym, reading, watching films or creating content for business owners.
I’m also a lifelong martial artist, holding a third-degree black belt in karate, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and having competed as an amateur mixed martial artist.
My Philosophy
A successful business isn’t necessarily the biggest business.
It’s the one that gives you the freedom, security and opportunities you wanted when you started.
If I can help you build that, then I’ve done my job.
